Waply AI vs Kommo Native AI: WhatsApp Agents, Credits and Calls
Waply's AI is independent of Kommo's native AI: it is Waply's own product on third-party model providers. Kommo's built-in AI agent replies only to incoming messages and runs on shared plan credits. Waply adds its own text agents, WhatsApp human calls with recordings, call intelligence and Voice AI agents that answer WhatsApp calls — billed on Waply plans, not as a Kommo AI add-on.
This guide is for teams already on Kommo (and agencies that implement it) who are choosing between Kommo's native AI agent and Waply's independent AI for WhatsApp. It is a fair comparison: when native credits are enough, and when Waply's messaging, calls and voice stack is the better fit. Kommo figures come from Kommo's official docs and blog; always confirm current limits in your Kommo Billing page.

What you are comparing
Kommo's native AI agent is built into the CRM. It uses your knowledge sources and shared AI credits to answer customers across connected channels, including WhatsApp.
Waply is a separate product that installs in Kommo and connects WhatsApp through Meta's official platform. Its text and voice AI is Waply's own development on third-party model providers. It does not depend on Kommo's native AI and is not a Kommo add-on feature.
- Same CRM context (Kommo) — two different AI products and billing models.
- Kommo native: inbound text agent + other in-CRM AI tools on a shared credit pool.
- Waply: WhatsApp messaging, human calls and recordings, text AI agents, call intelligence, and Voice AI on WhatsApp calls.
You can evaluate them side by side. Using Waply does not replace Kommo's writing helpers or Copilot unless you choose to rely on Waply for customer-facing WhatsApp AI.
How Kommo's native AI agent works
According to Kommo's documentation, the AI agent handles customer conversations 24/7 from your sources, actions and persona settings. A critical limit: it only replies to incoming messages and cannot start conversations.
Plan access (from June 1, 2026)
- Available on the 14-day trial and on Advanced, Pro and Enterprise.
- New Base plan customers do not get the AI agent from June 1, 2026. Accounts that had Base before that date may keep access under the new limits — confirm in Kommo.
- Active agents per workspace (not per seat): none on Base, 3 on Advanced, 50 on Pro, custom on Enterprise.
Shared AI credits
All Kommo AI features (agent, rewriter, summaries, suggestions, Copilot, and more) draw from one monthly credit pool. Credits scale with seats and renew on your subscription renewal date; unused credits do not roll over. When credits run out, AI tools stop until you renew, add seats, upgrade, or buy more credits.
Included AI credits per seat per month (Kommo docs)
| Plan | Credits / seat / month |
|---|---|
| Trial | 1,800 |
| Base | 750 |
| Advanced | 1,250 |
| Pro | 2,250 |
| Enterprise | 2,250 (docs table; custom on some pages) |
Kommo's pricing blog (published June 1, 2026) gives an approximate reference of about 15 credits per AI agent reply. That is an estimate, not a guarantee: actual use varies by message and feature. Extra credits are sold as add-ons in Settings → Billing; package names and dollar prices change over time — confirm the current offer in your account rather than relying on a blog snapshot.
Voice notes are not WhatsApp calls
On Pro, the native agent can process incoming voice messages: it transcribes the note and replies in text. That is not answering a WhatsApp voice call, and it is not call recording inside the lead timeline.
How Waply's independent AI works
Waply's AI is built and billed by Waply. Text agents use your knowledge sources, instructions, number, pipeline, stage and schedule, with handoff to a human when you define it. Voice AI adds agents that answer WhatsApp calls on an eligible business number.
Waply plans relevant to AI (USD, site pricing)
| Plan | Monthly | AI-related inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | USD 18 | Messaging; human WhatsApp calls and recordings (90-day retention); no message AI agents |
| AI 24/7 | USD 39 | Everything in Basic + 10,000 AI text credits/month, 500 call-intelligence minutes/month, own key for text, 365-day retention |
| Voice AI | USD 89 | Everything in AI 24/7 + managed and BYOK voice agents; 750 call-intelligence minutes; 300 managed voice minutes; 2,000 BYOK connection minutes |
- 3-day free trial includes everything in Voice AI.
- Meta message/call charges and your own AI provider (BYOK) charges are separate when applicable.
- Extra WhatsApp number: USD 12/month; integrations/API add-on: USD 19/month.
Waply's voice agent answers WhatsApp calls; it cannot transfer a live call to a person yet. Teams follow up from the lead timeline. Details are in the WhatsApp calls guide.
Side-by-side comparison
Waply AI vs Kommo native AI agent
| Kommo native AI agent | Waply AI | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Built into Kommo CRM | Independent product installed in Kommo |
| Model / dependency | Kommo AI on shared credits (Kommo uses OpenAI as provider per their blog) | Waply's own stack on third-party model providers; does not use Kommo AI credits |
| Customer chat | Replies to incoming messages only; cannot start conversations | Text agents on WhatsApp with sources, scope and human handoff |
| WhatsApp voice calls | Not a calling product; Pro can transcribe voice notes and reply in text | Human calls + recordings on every plan; Voice AI agents answer WhatsApp calls |
| Billing | Included credits per seat + optional credit add-ons in Kommo Billing | Waply subscription (Basic / AI 24/7 / Voice AI) + optional Meta and BYOK charges |
| Base plan (new from Jun 1, 2026) | No AI agent for new Base customers | Works with Kommo; AI features start on Waply AI 24/7 / Voice AI |
| Trial | Kommo 14-day trial includes AI credits / agent access per Kommo docs | Waply 3-day trial with everything in Voice AI |
Neither column is “always better.” Native AI is already inside Kommo for inbound chat if your plan and credits cover the volume. Waply is built for WhatsApp operations that need independent AI billing, call recording in the lead, and voice agents on WhatsApp calls.
When Kommo's native AI may be enough
- You are on Advanced, Pro or Enterprise (or a legacy Base that still has the agent) and mainly need inbound WhatsApp/text replies.
- Your monthly volume fits the included credits (and you accept buying add-ons if you spike).
- You do not need WhatsApp voice calling, call recording in the lead, or an AI that answers WhatsApp calls.
- You prefer one Kommo bill for CRM seats and AI credits, without a second product.
- In-CRM helpers (summaries, rewrite, Copilot) matter more than a dedicated WhatsApp calling stack.
If credits run out mid-cycle, Kommo's docs say AI features stop until credits renew or you purchase more. Plan for that if reply volume is unpredictable.
When Waply is usually the better fit
- You need WhatsApp human calls inside Kommo, with recordings (and, on AI plans, transcripts/summaries) in the lead timeline.
- You want Voice AI that answers WhatsApp calls — not only voice notes turned into text.
- You want AI billing independent of Kommo seat credits (clear Waply plan + own-key options).
- You are on a new Base plan without the native AI agent and still want WhatsApp AI agents.
- You want a 3-day full Voice AI trial before committing, separate from Kommo's trial.
How the cost models differ
Kommo AI cost is mostly: CRM seats on a plan that includes the agent + monthly credits per seat + optional credit add-ons when the pool runs out. Credits are shared across AI features, not only the agent. Kommo's June 2026 blog illustrated package tiers and an ~15 credits/reply rule of thumb; treat dollar package prices as something to confirm in Billing because the purchase UI and offers are updated over time.
Waply AI cost is a fixed subscription tier (USD 18 / 39 / 89) with published monthly allowances for text credits, call intelligence and voice minutes. Meta's WhatsApp message and call charges are separate; BYOK model usage is billed by your provider.
Cost layers to keep separate
| Layer | Kommo path | Waply path |
|---|---|---|
| CRM / product | Kommo seats and plan | Waply plan (installs in Kommo) |
| AI usage | Shared AI credits (+ add-ons) | Plan allowances and/or your own key |
| WhatsApp delivery | Meta (via your WhatsApp connection) | Meta (via Waply on Meta's platform) |
| WhatsApp calls | Not provided by the native AI agent | Human + Voice AI; Meta call rates separate |
Frequently asked questions
Is Waply the same as Kommo's native AI?
No. Waply is an independent product that installs in Kommo. Its text and voice AI is Waply's own development on third-party model providers. It does not consume Kommo AI credits and is not a Kommo add-on feature.
Does Kommo's AI agent only reply to incoming messages?
Yes. Kommo's official AI agent docs state that the agent only replies to incoming messages and cannot start conversations. Plan for human or other outbound flows when you need to initiate chat.
Can Kommo's native AI answer WhatsApp voice calls?
No. On Pro, it can process incoming voice messages (transcribe and reply in text). Answering WhatsApp voice calls, recording them in the lead and running Voice AI on those calls is what Waply provides.
How do Kommo AI credits work?
Kommo AI features share one monthly credit pool. Included amounts are per seat (for example 750 on Base, 1,250 on Advanced, 2,250 on Pro per Kommo's limits docs), they renew on your subscription date, and unused credits do not roll over. When the pool is empty, AI features stop until you add credits, seats or upgrade. Kommo's June 1, 2026 blog cites roughly 15 credits per agent reply as a reference — confirm live usage in Billing.
How much does Waply AI cost, and is there a trial?
Basic is USD 18/month (calls and recording, no message AI agents). AI 24/7 is USD 39/month (text agents and call intelligence allowances). Voice AI is USD 89/month (adds voice agents and voice minutes). The free 3-day trial includes everything in Voice AI. Meta and BYOK provider charges are separate when applicable.
Can I use Kommo's native AI and Waply together?
Yes. They are separate products. Many teams keep Kommo's in-CRM AI helpers while using Waply for WhatsApp messaging, calls and Waply agents. Avoid overlapping automations on the same stage without a clear handoff so two bots do not fight for the same conversation.
Do new Kommo Base customers get the native AI agent?
According to Kommo's plans-limits docs, from June 1, 2026 new Base plan users do not have access to the AI agent. Accounts that purchased Base before that date may still use it under the new limits. Always confirm on your account.
When is Waply worth it versus native credits?
Native AI is often enough for inbound text on Advanced+ when credits cover your volume and you do not need WhatsApp calling. Choose Waply when you need independent AI billing, human WhatsApp calls with recordings, call intelligence, or Voice AI on WhatsApp calls — or when your Kommo plan does not include the native agent.
